Superior Energy Services commissioned us to design a 600,000lbs hydraulic conductor pulling unit to support their clients.
The Challenge
This project had a limited footprint which we had to abide by while we were designing this project. With this limited footprint, we had to ensure the project met the required capacity while incorporating all the required functions. Another challenge this project faced was ensuring all items we designed had to stay within the weight limits of carrying capacity for the project’s set-up. Every item we designed had to be compliant with both API4F (American Petroleum Institute) and Australian Standards.
The Solution
The first step of this project was to design the concept and layout to make sure it was contained in the plan’s limited footprint. We worked collaboratively with Superior Energy Service’s fabrication team to systematically release items and stick to their fabrication schedules.
All of our designs were audited by a third party to confirm everything was noted to the project’s requirements.
The Results
Our ability to work collaboratively with Superior Energy Service’s team while adhering to their requirements saw the completion of a fully functioning new rig that expands their capabilities and offerings to Superior’s clients. The construction of this new rig now further streamlines their services.
