About Us
Established in April 2022, Red Bolt Engineering provides technical mechanical and structural engineering design and drafting services over numerous industries for clients of all sizes.
Since our inception, we have worked on a range of projects of various sizes including offshore hydraulic jacking units, quarry design including layouts, pneumatic spoolers and many other smaller projects.
Our mission is to work collaboratively with clients to support their projects from concept through to commissioning.

With over a decade of experience in mechanical and structural engineering work on various projects throughout Australia, Jiel established Red Bolt Engineering in 2022.
After graduating from the University of Southern Queensland in 2011, Jiel’s career began with a graduate program at Siemens Australia in 2013 working on both QCLNG and GLNG projects in a site engineer / manager role including hands on installation and commissioning of the compressors and gas turbines. Changing direction into a design and drafting role, Jiel started at Obadare in 2017 working as a mechanical engineer before being promoted to Engineering Manager in 2019. During this time, Jiel worked on numerous projects including multiple CAT IV Rig Inspections, Easternwell ALRX mast fabrication and overseeing many other projects.

Kyle has over 15 years’ experience working in the steel fabrication and manufacturing industries. Having graduated from University of Southern Queensland in 2013, Kyle has dedicated the past 10 years of his career to mechanical engineering.
Kyle’s career has facilitated the development of practical knowledge across multiple sectors. As well as gaining top expertise in applying Solidworks detail design, drafting and FEA across all project stages. Kyle has worked on numerous projects with stakeholders such as New Hope Coal (Acland Mine), Millmerran Power Station and Veolia Water. Prior to commencing with Red Bolt, Kyle was the Engineering Manager at Gessner for four years.

Riley's passion for 3D modelling and design has led him into a career in drafting and engineering. Drawing on his hands-on experience in the agriculture industry, he now utilises his SolidWorks expertise to provide valuable support to our projects. Riley has been a valuable team member since joining in 2023.

Sam began his career as an automotive mechanic, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical systems. From 2002 to 2003, he worked as a civil draftsman/engineering assistant and later as a mechanical draftsman/estimator in the underground mining industry, focusing on design and technical drafting.
In October 2023, Sam joined Red Bolt Engineering as a Designer/Undergraduate Engineer, where he handles the full design process, including concept design, FEA, calculations, drafting, material selection, and site measurements. His work spans a variety of equipment and structures, including steel/aluminium structures, lifting equipment, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Sam is well-versed in Australian Design and Fabrication Standards, ensuring high-quality, compliant results.
His contributions have led to improvements in engineering precision and process efficiency, while his collaboration with senior engineers and proactive approach to technical documentation highlights his commitment to advancing mechanical design. Sam’s practical knowledge and dedication to high standards make him a valuable asset to Red Bolt Engineering, where he continues to deliver innovative solutions.

In 2024, James joined the team as an intern, while completing his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at UniSQ. James is gaining valuable practical experience to complement his studies by working alongside our engineers and has a keen interest in all aspects of mechanical engineering.

Graduating in 2020, and beginning in 2021, James worked as a Principle Mechanical Designer, designing feedlots, grain storage and rail loading facilities across the country, as well as working on aeration equipment & mobile augers for domestic and foreign markets. He gained first-rate skills in Autodesk Inventor as well as hands on experience in product testing & practical mechanical design.
James joined the Red Bolt Engineering Team in 2024 and he has been focussing his attention on mechanical design, materials handling & production design as well as design and layout of cement batch plants.

Peter's career as a Mechanical Engineer has spanned a multitude of fields, including mining, quarrying, oil & gas, and agriculture. After completing a Business Manager traineeship in the extractive industry, he found his true passion for mechanical design and made a shift into a technical design role. With a foundation in Finite Element Analysis and weld design, Peter honed his skills by focusing on hydraulic design.
An explorer of new technologies, Peter seized the opportunity to familiarise himself with 3D scanning. Since joining the team in 2024, he has been able to fully immerse himself in this cutting-edge field, embarking on a variety of innovative projects that allow him to blend his extensive experience with his passion for engineering.
